Default AFT Cabin on Emerald

We have the ability to get an aft cabin on the Emerald. Has anyone experienced a lot of noise or extra movement being at the back of the ship? I think the balconies are a little larger as well - right?

Thanks for the info and thoughts!

We sailed in a mini-suite -AFT starboard on the Emerald a few years back, and it was great. Quiet area, no extra noise at all. And you have less people walking by your cabin!

I love the aft, but if you tend towards motion sickness, be aware there is more movement forward and aft.

The wake can be very loud. We always have to yell at each other when out on the balcony but we save our talking for inside. If it is rough, then it might bother you.

We were on the Emerald a few years ago in aft cabin D734. We loved it. The balcony was huge. It had two full size loungers as well as a round table with two regular chairs. There wasn't any people noise as it was at the end of the hallway. However the noise from the wake was rather loud. I think it was because the balcony was totally covered so the noise echoed. There was occasionally some weird side to side movement, but no big deal. We would do this cabin again in a heartbeat.

You didn't say what floor but C752 and C753 are our absolute FAVORITE cabins! We've never noticed any extra movement and the wake isn't as loud as the complaints I've read about. (I'd rather hear water moving than my neighbor's conversation!) You should know there's not a ton of sun because the entire balcony is covered. You get some when the sun is in certain positions.
The cabins are at the end of the hall and all you have next to you is one suite on one side and the open sea on the other!

What cabin number specifically? I have sailed in C753 and C752 and loved them. However there can be more movement back there. There are also some cabins with exhaust fans next to them that may not be good thing so deck and location may be important.....

We were on the Emerald last June to the Baltics. Had the corner aft on the Caribe deck. it was huge. One night we had a cocktail party out there with eight folks and everyone had a chair. Pulled a few from the cabin. Noise and motion were not a problems at all. Have fun!

We have always booked mini suites and have tried to get E730 or E731. With that said, last Emerald cruise D735 was available and we loved it. In fact, we liked it so much that we cancelled our aft mini on our next cruise and booked C752! We liked the covered balcony and it was huge. The only drawback was that there were a couple of days where it was rather warm out there as the cover can block the breeze.
