Dolphin Discovery pricing

My family and I are interested in swimming with dolphins at Costa Maya. I was going to book online, which the prices are $79 to get he basic package with the dolphins. We do not want to actually swim with them, we are fine with high fives, kisses and some interaction. Honestly, I am not ready to actually ride on or with a dolphin :) I do not feel comfortable purchasing my tickets online before we arrive because if for ANY reason we have to cancel (bad weather, missing of port, illness, etc) we still have to pay a 10% cancellation fee. I also have heard the water was freezing cold, so I would like to wait until the day we get there.

I have seen that we can actually walk right up and decide when we are at port if we would like to do this excursion. My question is has anyone ever seen and/or purchased swimming with the dolphins after they arrived at port at Costa Maya? If so what was the pricing and what year did you purchase?

Yes you can walk right up and do a swim with them. If I remember correctly, the pricing was no where near $79. Honestly, this is a sad sad place to do a dolphin swim. The pens they have them in are so small and it's just not a great place to do a swim. Better places consist of Cozumel.
