Nice Beach

I need a nice beach that isn't too far from the port. The Carnival excursion has a beach/lunch but the reviews are bad. Would love the tubing but who wants to be on a bus for 3 hours. :confused:

The nearest beach to the tender pier is Cucumber Beach in Old Belize. It's about a 15-20 minute taxi ride. Cucumber Beach is a man made beach/lagoon that is used primarily by local Belizeans on weekends. Not everything in Old Belize may be open during week days but I think the bar will be.

All other beach excursions, cruise line or private, are out to various cays. The most popular are about a 15 minute boat ride from the ship. For private excursions it's a 10-15 minute tender ride into Belize City, a wait at the pier, and a 20-30 minute boat ride to the cay. Reverse for return.

Has anyone been to this cucumber beach?

On TA one person's review stated "It's a hole with water in it". :D

Another wrote " dirty look puddle of water"

$10 entrance fee.
