Tipping Question

Hello All,

I read that you can post tips to your ship board account. How does that work? Is there any written acknowledgement of the tip? Also, Does anyone know if this is undesired by the crew? I wouldn't want to have them lose any of the tip. Looking for any feedback.

We were given a form to fill out, then given vouchers for the amount to put in the envelopes to give to the staff. The forms gave the suggested amounts, but you could put any amount you wanted. Very convenient, fast, and easy. We will definitely do this again.

Hi Bella,
I have asked several waiters on the last two cruises (one in Dec. on RCI's LOS and one in April on Millennium)if they prefer cash or vouchers.......most said that they prefer cash but are happy with either. It takes about two weeks for them to get the money from the Cruise line if they were tipped through the voucher system. Once in a while there might be a 'mixup'if the 'guests' changed tables or cabins and used the voucher system.
But I do agree that the voucher system is very convenient and it is 'fast and easy'.

If you prefer to stick with the cash method, the calculator below will make the process a little quicker and easier than sorting it all out by hand.
