Anything within walking distance from pier

Is there any sight seeing or beaches within walking distance from pier. Have two small children and not wanting to do an excursion.

You can walk into town and also on the way there is a cheese factory that sells really good gouda cheese and little dutch clog shoes for kids. It's a 10 minute walk from the ship by the marina. You can also swim right downtown. (Sorry this is for St. Marten, not St. Kitts)

It is not a beach or sight seeing but Palm Court Garden is a 15-20 minute walk from the cruise port. An infinity pool with a great view of the ship in port, free wifi-though very slow when I was there-, loungers and umbrellas. There is an entrance fee.
