Shooting quarters game in casinos

Does anyone know the name of the game that you stick a quarter in, then it's shot up to hit some targets, and falls down onto a ledge covered in quarters and there are little mechanical arms that push the quarters ever so much closer to the edge? There are always hundreds of quarters just perched on the ledge, and it's so tempting!

Anyway, I love that game, but no one on shore has any idea what I'm talking about, and I can't figure out what it's called!! If you know, I would have one of life's great mysteries figured out, then onto the next :)

Thanks!

I don't know why...but I seem to get a kick out of that machine where you drop the coin in at the right time...and it pushes the ones in front over the edge and down the chute. I have no idea what it's called...but it's pretty cool (for those of us that have no idea what we're doing in a casino).

Anyway...I hit paydirt with that thing on NCL Dream...I got the thing to push out about $40.00, and it only took me about a dozen quarters.

Meagre I know...but still a kick.

I used to love those things, nearly always a money loser, but fun to play.

Silly story, many years ago Vegas World ran a stupid promotion with two of those machines, they had placed so quarters inside with little red dots stuck to them, get one of them and it was worth $100 !

Now I am not going to name names, but I do know at least one person thought this promotion through, saw the big hole in it, went to office max, bought a bunch of the stickers and "won" a lot of money.

Many years ago there was a little cruise ship out of New Orleans that was partially owned by Isle of Capri and it did w/e cruises to no where. It only held about 200 passengers, was very small, very old and had NO stabilizers of any kind.

One w/e the weather was horrid, awful horrible - puke, puke, puking bad.

They finally closed the casino because people were falling off the stools and the ball would not stay in the roulette wheel (I kid you not). Anyway, later that night the casino was empty and I was strolling through (think pinball here bouncing off the walls) when we hit this big wave and that cute little quarter machine just poured out quarters.

My nausea was instantly cured :D

A gas station near me had these. Used to win tons of money on them. Theres a trick too!

Every once in a while a few quarters will fall when somone is not playing. However after about 30 seconds after playing a lever closes teh shoot so the fallen quarters when not playing dont come out. SO if you wait a minute between each play somtime youll get some extras that fall. :D usually not many but a few.

When anyone asks me how much money I've won in the casino, I always tell them the ship rolled once & a quarter dropped out of one of these machines. That's all the money I've won! (Not quite true, but almost!)

They had one of these machines on the Ryndam last September. People were always standing around it, laughing and having a good time. I think it is put there to just help people have something to watch and laugh at. It had some scratch off lottery tickets in it. My daughter was able to get 2 of them.

Our Chuck E. Cheese has one and at 6 my DS knew the trick and when to drop the quarter.... So I know he will provide guidance for me!

Our RCC crusie had one and they placed $50 and $20 bills in it over night.. People walked by all day and it was spitting quarters out...
