Best time to cruise to South Pacific Islands?

Hi folks,

We're planning to take either the 7 day Week Fantastique or 9 day Island Adventure cruise from Brisbane sometime during the second half of next year. Both these cruises go to the pacific islands.

We'd like to stay away from school holidays, so when would be the best time to sail, taking into account weather on-board and on-shore?

Possible departures are:

hi Kylie,

My recommendation is 2nd October Island Adventure. We find that 7 day cruises are just far too short and have decided we will not go on another one.

We have cruised in November and in December and found it to be incredibly humid. On the December cruise we would come back on to the ship with our clothes soaking wet from perspiration. (Sorry to be so graphic.) Keep in mind that Noumea is the same latitude as Rockhampton and Vila is almost as far north as Cairns. December is well and truly into the wet season. This is just my opinion - you might love hot and humid weather. :):)

Thanks for the reply Evon! We've just come back from 8 days in Vanuatu and it was humid humid humid, even for late March! Luckily we only got rain the last two days :)

And while we didn't mind the humidity, my parents may be joining us on this cruise and I'm not sure the humidity will be a winner for them. But in saying that, they would only be subject to the humidity on short days.

hmmmm decisions decisions! The 9-day Xmas cruise would be lovely :confused:.

Are you taking kids? Just check that the kids clubs arn't already full.

My choice would be the October one too! The 7 night is way too short :D.

I'd go for the Oct 2 one..warm enough for a swim and not humid yet. The islands are about the same latitude as Rockhampton/Yeppoon, which is one of our best months.
