Just posted from a blog on board Dawn Princess...

During the early evening of last night, our new Captain came through on the broadcast system to introduce himself and more importantly advise us of a deep low pressure system in the Tasman Sea. It is predicted that we would encounter this low pressure system during our sea day after the Bay of Islands and that there are 6 metre waves expected. Although the ship could handle this, it would slow us down considerably and therefore affect our arrival into Sydney. So the decision was made that we would not be visiting the Bay of Islands and we would navigate to a higher latitude to avoid the pressure system.

This means that we now have three sea days before we get back to Sydney. It really feels like we’re going home now.

( I will make a seperate post of this news in case anyone is looking for specific information on Dawn's progress)

Last night we were informed that the Dawn Princess will have the honour of hosting a New Zealand food television series. Those who wished to be part of the filming had to sign paperwork covering confidentiality and other stuff. It was all going to be filmed in the dining room we attend so we opted not to go. Apparently Princess Cruises will let us know when this will be broadcast in New Zealand so friends and family can see what life is like on our ship with regards to eating yourself stupid.

So it was Masterchef.
Well I wont tell anyone about it being filmed on board.
Gee I knew it was filmed ahead of time but that must be for NZ Masterchef 2013.
