Docking in San Francisco - how early can I schedule tour?

Recommended Posts

Hi, all. We will be on Explorer of the Seas in San Francisco on Mon-Tues Sept. 18-19. We arrive at 8 am on Monday. Any experience on how long it will take until we can make it off the boat? We're trying to plan a tour and are not sure what to expect. Thanks!!

Thanks for the reply. I know we don't need to clear customs, but my memory is vague on how long it usually takes once the ship gets into port for them to allow passengers off. We were planning on meeting the tour at Fisherman's Wharf, which looks to be maybe a 20 min walk from the pier? I think we're going to play it safe and shoot for a 10 am tour which should give us enough time to get off and walk over.

I have to tell you it depends.

As many times as we have arrived to San Francisco on a cruise not ending there more times then not we have encountered delays.

I would not assume you will be off the ship until 9:00 AM.

If it is sooner great. Could be a little after that.

So I would plan the tour accordingly.

Keith
