once a year sale

Depends on your definition of "big sale."

In January there is usally a "big sale" as that is the start of the "wave season" when all cruise compaies are trying to get summer bookings firmed up. "Big" in this case means many cruises, but not necessarily great prices.

"Big sales" when "big" means great pricing depends on demand and can happen anytime sales are slow for a voyage.

If final payment time has passed, there will be "flash sales" with great pricing, but only for new bookings.

I think Princess has also gotten into the habit of having some holiday sales like so many other retailers -- Memorial Day, Labor Day, Black Friday, etc. -- so you may keep an eye out around those holidays.

You can gamble on prices for June of next year. Currently the cruise I just checked on is considerably more next year compared to the sale prices for the equivalent cruise this year. You'll see generally bigger discounts on cruises early in the Alaskan season (May through early June) and late in the season (late August through September).

Get on their email list for sales. Lots of opportunities. :D

28 longer (15 days) princess cruises and we have never received an e-mail offer and yes they do have our e-mail address and we are elite. So why do some get offers and others don't

Did you go to the Princess web site and sign up for these e-mail offers?

They only send them out to those who have asked.

However, sometimes people who have asked do not get them for some reason.
