Need to rent a car for 1 day @ Miami Port....

Where to start? Is there a car rental place onsite? If so, which one?

We are spending 1 day post cruise in Miami and want to visit my Grandma who lives 45 north of Miami, so, is a rental car my best option?

There are no car rental facilities on-site at Port of Miami. Alamo, Thrifty and Dollar will shuttle you from the port to their off-airport location. Avis has a location a 2 minute cab ride away in downtown Miami.
