Are there AA meetings on board?

Hi,
Taking the Dream in June sooo excited. Does anyone know if there are AA meetings on board and if so how often?
I remember seeing something in schedule about friends of bill...but I didn't take much notice. Anyone happen to have copy of recent funtimes for Dream?

Yes, there will be Friends of Bill W meetings daily. Just check your FunTimes for when and where. Hope you have a great cruise!

Yeah, you will see daily listings of Friends of Bill W., and lots of people asking who is Bill W.

Unfortunately, our experience was that the meetings were not daily. We actually had to go to the Customer Service and request meetings after none were posted for 2 days.

Look at the Fun Times. As you know, meetings will be indicated as Friends of Bill W. Times and location will vary from day to day. No real rhyme or reason. Meetings won't have a chairperson or literature so you'll need to pick among the attendees a chairperson. Also, bring your own literature (like the Big Book) just in case nobody else brings one.

And be prepared. Sometimes the meetings will be heavily attended. Sometimes you'll be there all by yourself.

I've noticed that CCL now calls the meetings "Friends of Bill W and Jimmy" and the daily times and locations are usually posted in the Fun Times. Only dat not listed was usually sailaway. There have been occasions when the times were not conducive to people showing up, say noon on a port day, and someone from the group talked to guest services about making better arrangements. Happy to say, CCL accomodated the request.
Just for the record, the "Friends of Dorothy" listing caters to the LBGT crowd, lest there be any confusion.

On our last Legend cruise, it was daily at 5 in the chapel or library, and always posted. On our 5 day cruises, I didnt notice them posted for the sailaway day..(but then again, we haven't sailed away when they say we are going to either). I would suggest getting on your roll call and seeing if anyone else is a friend of Bill W, that way you have someone you know before you even get on board, just in case, no one shows up for a meeting. (which has happened to me on my first cruise)(when I didn't know about Cruise Critic). Sail Happy!

We can go to both. As a member of both groups it just means more social time if I want it. However, if your not an alcoholic, you might prefer the "Dorthy" meetings. They tend to be more fun.....

There have always been Friends of Bill meetings listed on our cruises. Also, just in case you didn't know, Kindle offeres the Big Book for a dollar so you wouldn't have to pack the book if you have a kindle.

Ironically, Friends of Bill W. meetings on the Breeze are held in the Library--where the new self serve wine bar is located

Friends of Dorothy??? is this AA for LBGT or a support group for LBGT?
