Whales by the ship?

I don't think you can see the whales from the beach where the ship comes in. I think they come down between East Caicos and GT as they typically pass Salt Cay. but they'd be further off shore from GT due primarily to the depth and the presence of reefs around Grand Turk. They have been spotted from some of the higher points around the Lighthouse Park which is at the other end of the island from the cruise port.

I was hoping to maybe spot some too on our upcoming cruise which stops at GT. We will be there the first week of April and I know that's at the end of the migration season, but still crossing my fingers.

I have read that if you go to Bohio, you can sometimes spot them from there...which would tell me that they do in fact come close enough to GT to see them right? Their webiste even mentions seeing them from the bar.
