Kauai beach near port

We are sailing on Pride of Aloha in mid-June--I was wondering if there is a beach close to the port in Kauai. DH and oldest DS are taking an early morning helicopter tour that second day. I thought that my other sons and I could go to a beach area if there is one within walking distance of the port. Does anyone know if there is a beach area close to the port? Thanks.:)

I beleive if you just walk out of the gates and up the road to the stop sign and turn right there is a beach area straight ahead and some shopping places and the Mariott hotel. It's about a 1/2 a mile walk I think. The Mariott has a beautiful beach area that you can go on. And be sure to go thru the Mariott and see all the beautiful landscaping and ponds and stuff. OH also if you just ask some of the shuttle ladys when you get off the ship one of them would probably just give u a ride up to there. There is alot of free shuttles that go all over.
