Prescription Drug In Belize?

What US prescription drugs have you picked up in Belize over the counter without an prescription??

Antibiotics, ED meds (celias, ******, etc.) vaniqua, no narcs though.

You can get Darvocet, Vicoden, Xanax and Valium without a perscription in Belize.

Do you have to go outside the fence in Belize to find a pharmacy or do they have any inside the fence?

I picked up a couple of tubes of that a couple of years ago when we were in Belize. We just didn't have time to look around to see what else was offered.

We picked up ampicillin in Coz, PDC and Belize. I also saw a sign in Belize advertising Viagara 30 for $90 or 1 for $4. Since you only need 1/2 pill, that is $2 a pop. ;) I did the math.

I love this country!!

Ok I am new to this buying meds in Cozumel but would like to check it out. Do you have problems getting back on the ship or getting off in the US with the meds?

I would think it would be open anytime a cruise ship was in port.

My son was just given a prescription for Benzaclin (it's for acne).

It is a cream.

I looked at the pictures in the previous post and did not see it on any of the signs.

Are these safe and real? I thought I saw Meridia in there. Here it costs $125.00 for 30 of them.

My wife buying drugs in Belize - much cheaper than Cozumel and no problem getting back on the ship. This place is right in the terminal when you get off the tender.

In general, I think most of what they sell are generic formulas of the name brand stuff. As an example, Meridia is a brand name for sibutramine and sibutramine is what they probably sell, which is why it costs less.

I got Xanax and some very strong diet pills back in 2002.

As a slightly older and wiser person now, I would not recommend buying prescription drugs that are not prescribed for you. The diet pills caused a personality change and brought on symptoms of depression. My dr told me that they can even bring on dementia. Never again. I'd rather be chubby.

Since this is generic it can be purchased cheaply here. If you go to Walmart or Target you can purchase it for $4 per RX. I do not know if you will save that much based on that price.

Oh wow ... I didnt know it was that cheap ... my dad needs it and his medical insurance just dropped, so I thought I would check it out while I was there.

Always check prices before you go. $4 prescriptions in the US are typically for a 30 day supply. Drugstore.com is another one you can use. Of course, to purchase in the US requires a valid prescription.
