Auckland hotel post cruise

we have a 1 day stay in Auckland (a Sunday) after our cruise and then fly to Sydney and in home starting with a 7:30 am flight. Optimally I would like to find a hotel accessible and convenient to the ports for bag drop off and touring and also convenient to the airport for our next morning flight - I'm assuming we will need to leave around 5 am for the airport? Thanks for any thoughts.

I have chosen Ponsonby manor for our stay there..very convenient to restaurants etc. in a neat area.

Is it convenient to both the cruise terminal and the airport? Those are my concerns plus a guesstimate of how long it will take to get to the airport at 5 am.

I would google Auckland Airport re transport options to airport. Skybus runs 24 hours to and from airport.

Check with your airline re checkin times, as I'd think you'd have to leave before 5 am for a 7.30 international flight.

Yes, I think so; didn't know skybus was a 24 hour deal; thanks so much.

The Ponsonby Manor recommended we use a shuttle service ( We arrive at 7 Am).

Apparently their location is very near buses. 2 km from CBD, 10 min by bus, walk 20 minutes. It is a 10-20 minute walk to the ferry. Their website will allow you to ask them questions and they are very responsive for more info.
