Default Credit card other than WorldPerks you can transfer points to for NCL OBC?

We all know about NCL's WorldPoints Mastercard. Are there are loyalty points/miles (hotel or airline) cards/programs you can transfer points from to NCL to get OBC? For example, with Chase Sapphire, you can transfer Ultimate Rewards points 1:1 to United, Southwest, Hyatt, and possibly a few others. Wanting to know how else to get additional OBC, and specifically if it is an option to transfer points/miles from non-Cruise loyalty programs to NCL for that purpose. Not status. Just OBC.

Not that I'm aware of. You could use the "cash back" option from one of many different cards and use that to purchase your own on board credit.

I'm thinking that if you booked through American Express travel, using one of their TAs that you would get OBC by booking with your AMEX card. Would think that any other card that was linked with a travel office like AMEX has could do the same.

I called an AMEX TA and the quote was higher. And no OBC.

That's two of the many reasons I no longer have an AMEX card... we do however, have 2 NCL rewards cards. DW just got her own for the $100 OBC offer. Mine will be used for the balance due on our upcoming cruise & DSC, as well as one pre-paid excursion. As soon as the points post, we'll be cashing them in for even more OBC... chef's table here we come!

If you have another rewards card through bank of america, the points can be transfered to the NCL branded BofA card or vice versa

i need help understanding the ncl card info. i admit i get totally confused with all the rules and regulations. if i apply for and get the card " that means i automaticly '' get the 10,000 poinnts correct. and since i just booked a alaska cruise for next yr that '' will give me $100 onboard credid '' with those points i get correct ?? i already have the HSN obc. it is so tempting too get the card but i want too make sure this is what i will be getting. thanks so much too all who help me out here.

The NCL rewards card has nothing to do with your HSN OBC. The 10,000 points from the NCL rewards card will be applied to your account after you make a qualifying purchase with the card. At first, the points will show as pending, then at the end of the billing cycle, they will be available for redemption.

One other advantage to the card is that you will earn double points for all purchases through NCL... for example, if your cruise balance is $2500 and you use the NCL card to pay it, you'll earn 5,000 points. Add that to the original 10,000 points and you can cash them in for $150 of OBC. Now you have a total of $250 in OBC... $150 from NCL rewards & $100 from HSN.

Another added benefit is the Worldpoints Mall; where most of the partner merchants offer bonus points when you make a purchase.

FWIW, DW just got her own card for an additional $100 OBC on top of my $100, plus the latitudes reward for booking the cruise and a couple of other rewards... giving us a total of $345 OBC before we board in January.

I'm coming up on $350 in World points, plus $150 from NCL. And just got an offer in the mail for $200 more. (This mailed offer is twice as high as their online offer, so won't mention company name.)

Just keep on charging!! But neva, neva, neva carry a balance! That would sort of defeat the purpose and ruin the fun.

This is accurate. Not sure tho if it needs to be a WorldPoints card (our other card is AAA WorldPoints). We have done it a few times no problem.

Thanks djmess. Big score if true. Can anyone report names of specific other boa rewards cards they've successfully used to xfer points to ncl? While we are not big spenders we have excellent credit. And so if we applied for one or two other boa cards offering nice sign up bonuses this could net a lot of obc.

I was wondering about this. I applied for the card to get the bonus pts/OBC. If DH get a card in his own name, once the points post to the card, both of us can have the OBC applied? How do we go about that -- a phone call? Is the OBC just applied to our reservation number and it doesn't matter that there are 2 names? We'll only have 1 onboard account when we sail. I guess I'd like to know the logistics of getting the OBC since I'm new to the card (haven't even received it yet).

Thx in advance

If you have an NCL PCC, you can just call them and they will take care of doing the OBC from your credit card. I've done it that way a time or 2. I'm sure you and your husband can both do it and have both the $100's applied, or if you get the card well in advance of the cruise, you may be able to earn even more.

I have a Capitol One Venture card that I use and apply points all of the time for travel. I use my card for travel and have the points deducted from the travel total. Very easy and customer service is always helpful.

When you redeem your points from your NCL rewards card, they will be assigned to the reservation number... not each passenger.

As for redeeming the points, there is an 800 number posted on the Worldpoints site. All you have to do is call the number (have your card number ready) and the rep will take care of it. The OBC will appear on your reservation confirmation; just be sure to ask for an updated copy and print one for your records.

Thanks to you both for your replies. Sounds easy enough! We don't cruise till January, so there's time to get the 2nd card, and since we haven't made final pmt yet, I can use one of them for double points

I would recommend getting a Capital One Cash Rewards Card and just using the money you earn to spend on a cruise! Here are some reasons why:
- There's no annual fee
- You earn 1% back on all purchases, then get a 50% bonus on all cashback earned once per year, so it's really like 1.5% earn rate on all purchases. Most other cards only offer 1% back (points, rewards, cash, etc) and MAYBE double points on select purchases that still don't even out to be 1.5% back for overall spend
- There's no foreign transaction fee on Cap One cards - makes it very nice to use for international travel whereas most other cards charge 3%+ per foreign transaction
