Cobh to cork train

Recommended Posts

I use a wheelchair and we had no problems walking/rolling to the station in a very short time. There is at least one gift shop in the station that I remember selling Irish products. The light rail was fast, wheelchair accessible although a conductor will want to lay a flat pan out for a 2" gap, and inexpensive. I seem to remember a small museum at the station too.

No problem getting train in Cobh about once an hour. There are several local shops that sell irish goods in Cobh itself. Just to let you know there is about a 15 min walk to Cork city from train station. When buying ticket ask for a return.

We have done this twice. Cork is a very nice city to visit and the train trip is easy. However, both times we were in Cork was on a wet Public Holiday, with many shops closed or opening later in the day. Still excellent visits but look forward to returning sometime to see the rest of this city.
