Default Carnival Splendor aft view extended balcony vs premium balcony

Hi all!

My girlfriend and I will be going on the Splendor in August and was wondering if anyone had any input on the aft view extended balcony vs the premium balcony. Aft view is around $130 more. Is the noise from the ships wake bad at all compared to a balcony midship? Is it worth the extra $$$ in your opinion?

Thanks!

I have the premium balcony booked for 2 upcoming cruises. They are considered the L shaped balconies and everyone on here raves about them. I cannot wait. Oh, and on the premium balconies, they are 75sq.ft instead of 35 on the regular balconies.

There are a lot of "aft" fans on here and I am surprised that no one has answered you. I hope some one does. Have read great things about aft and bad things about aft, which is why I went twice with the L shaped. (premium). Good luck to you.

This past January we were on the Splendor, Cabin #6448 which is an L-shaped aft cabin, next to what I believe is considered an aft "premium balcony". For our upcoming cruise we've booked an extended aft balcony because we want to try straight off the back of the ship. If both cabins you are looking at are on the aft (1 true aft and 1 corner) I would pick the less expensive cabin and spend more money on board!

I can't do the comparison because I haven't cruised on Carnival yet but had an aft penthouse on NCL in January and fell in love with the aft. We didn't find it noisy at all and less motion than our first cruise which was at the very front of the ship. It was very quiet and peaceful back there and I like the long walk as a way to work off the extra food.

OP, I was told by my PVP that the "L" shape/premium cabins on the Splendor are suppossed to be for people with disabilities. She told me I could book, but if someone "needed" this category of cabin that we would be bumped. Just something to consider. This is our first Carnival Cruise, but we have sailed in an Aft cabin previously. The RCCL Mariner of the Seas. I loved the location!! Looking forward to our cruise in August on the Splendor, we're booked Aft Wrap.

The center two aft facing cabins on the Splendor are narrower than a regular cabin.

No, the 4J cabins are for HC...(there may be others also). The premium balcony L shaped are not HC.
