Elorac123 Posted May 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2017 Hi,we are booked on the Sun for 7 day pacific islands and found it interesting that the only specialty dining you could reserve in advance is the Curtis Stone venue. Cheers Carole
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted May 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2017 You don't need to prebook the Speciality dining on Sun. The restaurants are rarely full. We just rocked up on the night at both Share and Kai Seafood and had no problems getting a table.
wishfulone Posted May 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2017 The Sterling Steakhouse currently has the best food on the Sun Princess. While you don't need to book before boarding you do need to book a couple of nights in advance to be sure of getting the time you want.

Aus Traveller Posted May 26, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2017 The Sterling Steakhouse currently has the best food on the Sun Princess. While you don't need to book before boarding you do need to book a couple of nights in advance to be sure of getting the time you want. I agree with these comments. We have found that the Steakhouse meal is superb. Don't eat much lunch that day.:D Consider which night you want to go to the Steakhouse - formal night or not. Unless you want to avoid formal night in the main dining room, I suggest going on a night other than formal night. In the main dining room they have special menus on formal nights. When you board, the Princess Patter in your cabin will show the schedule for the whole cruise including which nights are formal. The first one is usually the second night on board. As Wishfulone said, you only have to book a night or two ahead. You will find staff from the Steakhouse touting for bookings. They will be positioned outside the forward lifts (outside the Horizon Court buffet). They have details of the menu and can take your booking. We keep this first Patter and put it on the wall using small magnets so we can quickly see details of the next port day and other details. Enjoy. :)
