may seem stupid but...

First and foremost, the only "stupid" question is the question not asked. Your q's are good ones for a first-timer in a cruise ship casino.

The procedures are different for slot players and table players. Table players buy chips, either with cash or by presenting your cruise card. These days on most lines, there is no fee for getting chips using your cruse card. It will be listed on your account as a "purchase". When you're done, cash the chips you have left at the cashier's cage.

For slot players, it varies from line to line and sometimes even ship to ship. Usually, it involves inserting your cruise card into the machine, drawing an amount of money from your account into a fictitious "slot bank" and playing the machine with what is in your slot bank. At the end of the cruise, you cash out the slot bank at the casino cage.

Good luck.

Most ships will accept cash in the casino! We would NEVER charge our gambling money....it's always cash!!!

Even at tables, we put down cash, they give us chips to play with....and we turn in any chips we win for cash!

Slots will accept cash..some will give "tickets" for winnings...turn them in for cash!

RCCL DOES change 3% on cash charges to ship pass, even at the tables:(

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO LOVINCRUIZIN: Good to see you still here. If you haven't gone to Las Vegas yet. If you go to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Harmon Ave and Paradise Rd. go to the coffee shop. Ask for the gambler's special. It is not on the menu. It cost $7.77 and you get a salad, vegetable, steak, and BBQ shrimp (3). Enjoy.

HHHHHIiiiiii:D Aaaahh - one of the rowdy crowd;)
Best kind to have at the craps table

PS to CP -since we had to cancel our TA cruise, we're not hitting NYC this spring. In 2013 we have a Europe cruise in the summer but we might consider doing a land trip to the NYC area late this year - I'll keep you posted.

Shalom, Andy.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO grod19: The Grand Opening celebration is scheduled for May 24, 2012. That comes from the Revel Hotel and Casino folks themselves. If there is no smoking or even if they have smoking it will not bother me.

Most casinos have a "soft" opening before their grand opening. The one I worked or was open nearly a month before we had the grand opening!

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO LaCal: It seems you are one that likes to play the slot machines. Why don't you try to learn to play table games which have somewhat better chances for the player depending on your skill and good fortune. For each game you wish to play know the rules inside and out. Know what the dealer's role is and what they do. Know what your role is as a player. Know all the possible bets you could make and the chances of success. Then enjoy yourself.

i like slots, but i also like roulette if you consider that a table game. its fun and easy

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO lissa42886:You could like slots. Just realize that it does not come with good payouts. Table games are good, however, know all the rules and your potential returns if your number hits.

Roulette is a table game, however, it has bad payouts. Bet on the red or black and you get even money which would indicate a 50-50 bet. However, you have 18 chances of winning and 20 chances to lose. Not exactly an even money bet. Same goes for odd or even. 18 chances to win and 20 chances to lose. Pick columns and your return is 2-1. That would indicate 12 chances of winning and 24 chances of losing. However, you have 12 chances to win and 26 chances to lose. Then you have the single number, one chance to win and 37 chances to lose. However you only get a 35-1 payout when the payout should be 37-1.
