Booked it last minute, then didn't know

if was going to get to go because my

mother was having some problems. (she's ok now..as she can be)

So didn't say anything but I got to go, was

going to post after on here but the internet on

ship just not working most days.

My first solo..Went to Hawaii and the South Pacific..28 days!

Back story..my husband and I on this cruise, he got

sick, we had to get off in Hawaii, he in hospital. then we flew home.

Beginning of all his problems.

Now Tuesday would of been our Anniversary (still is to me)

so I wanted to do something..first cruise, didn't finish..this

cruise I did finish, maybe help with closure.

The South Pacific was Beautiful an as always love Hawaii!

Cruise was good, did fine as solo but was sad at times but

to be expected.

A few bumps..got sick..Not Noro! Didn't get to do everything

I wanted to because of this. LAX airport was a Zoo!

The crew was great, food was good. Did a lot of walking..

They have this cruise once a year ..round trip from LA,

others you have to fly to and from Tahiti.

Good News..Didn't Gain

Bad News..Gained three lbs since I've been home..can you believe?

Now another thing you won't believe..I'm going on another

cruise to just Hawaii for almost FREE! Got this just before I left.

Don't no why, someone pushed my button on the their computer..

17 day cruise to Hawaii for ONLY the port charge of..get ready..

$180.79. Normally as solo would cost $4000. It's Holland America,

haven't been on then since 2011. Was some others cruise's to choose

from but this the best for me. Think sent to others first because

of dates, then sent more out. They always want full ships.

Don't care..got it now. Leave in a week!

I COULDN'T PASS THIS UP! Even if just got off one.

Hi Belle!

WOW, that is some fantastic news. I imagine the South Pacific passage had mixed feelings - but so glad it turned out well ('cept for the sick part) and man, what an adventure/itinerary - may have to pencil that onto the ol' bucket list.

Flying to Hawaii in March - never been there but very much looking forward to a week on the beaches.

Did pretty darn good last week - even with the beer and eating out I only went up 1 to 177. No complaints - as long as that sucker is under 180 I'm seriously clicking my heels.

My long term goal is to ride the bike 3000 miles in 12 months. Starting the first of this month I'm well on my way and building up a cushion for the time I'm out of town.

Still waking up up too darn early - now 3:00 - 3:30AM seems to be the norm...so even if I have a road trip (yesterday) I get an early ride in to kick off the metabolism. I feel way better at the end of the day knowing I got a good workout in before sitting in the truck for 6-8 hours.

Still packing lunches and not eating out except an occasional dinner with the family. 3 months now I think with nothing but water and coffee (and a little beer) - zero soda. Eating a little more bread but the couple times I overdid it I felt like garbage the next morning.

Hope everyone is doing well and thanks again for kicking off the thread Belle.

See 'ya!

Hello,

Belle, welcome back. Glad you had a good time. It was brave for you to go on that cruise solo. Happy you did it. I'm sure it was a bit bitter sweet. That route is on hubby and my radar.

Have a great time in Hawaii. We are doing a 15 night to Hawaii round trip from Long Beach in January.

Shootr took good care of us while you were gone.

Somehow.....I lost 2 lbs. I'm below a certain number. Is this my lowest in the past several years? I think it might be.

Good luck this week.

Diana

I come back and everyone leaves?

Thank you again shootr for doing the thread.

You lost your weight and at goal. Great Job!

You are amazing with all your exercising/bike riding.

The race looked fun. Now I know what they wear

under their kilts! LOL

Diana..Good loss (I seem to be going the other way)

Your at goal too.

Yes you would love the South Pacific cruise. Beautiful!

You have nice cruises coming up.

Don't know when I'll be taking one again. Solo's are

expensive for one.

Kasi..Nice loss. Hope you are feeling better now. Read

you were sick. Kasi your time will come for longer cruises

it's just we're all older than you. We all had to wait too.

Have fun with your friend on her visit.

Hope Rose, Jo and others come and post soon.

Everyone have a good weekend.

HI all!

Welcome back Belle & you too Jan!:D

Belle ~ did you happen to meet Debbie & her sister Judy on your cruise?

Some of the places you visited sounded beautiful from Deb's reports but 28 days is way too much for me! How did you find that solo (which is how I usually cruise)? Great that you got to do the cruise & that you have another coming up so soon.

Funny you didn't gain on the cruise but did at home!

Well, I've been bad & went up another 0.8 lbs but had a good time doing so.:o

Congrats to you losers, maybe I'll be one next week if I'm good.;)

I still haven't learned not to buy the goodies.

~ Jo ~ :)

Hello everyone,

I am back from my conference and had a big week. since my last weigh in I lost 5 pounds. I am 2 pounds away from my goal. now the reasons behind that weight loss are not good. I was down and out with the flu for 6 days. Barely ate anything... stayed in bed for 6 days so that meant no working out.

I managed to start insanity on Wednesday. it is Insane and completely different beast than p90x. As I am now eating normally, my goal is to stay level this week. after loosing 8 pounds in two weeks, I think that is the best case scenario.

as for eating, when I did start eating again, Most of it has been at banquet style events. what I have learned is that if you ask, you shall receive. I had all of my meals customized to some degree. I opted out of the fat filled mashed potatoes for an extra serving of green beans. as I was eating those, I could taste the butter that they were covered with. My tastebuds did not enjoy that. Even one of my salads had so much dressing that I didn't eat it. being presented with a four course meal when you are used to eating 300-400 calories per meal results in a lot of food waste. I made sure to never finish my plate but eat enough to deal satisfied. I had discovered that red quinoa is fantastic! on my home from the airport, yesterday, I stopped at a health store to pick some up for my pantry.

well enough of my adventures. I hope everyone is doing well!

I learned a while back that if I had any hope of surviving conferences, I had to pack my own snacks like apples, jerky, peanut butter (those single serve things) - stuff that I could carry in my pack or run to my room and scarf down, then sit around and watch others eat. Didn't always work, but sometimes.it helped.

Got an awesome ride in their morning - drove out to a rec area and rode some hills watching the sun come up.

This area has a ton of wild horses:

Sunrise and mostly empty roads:

260 miles this month, I love my meditation machine:

See I put 9 instead of 19 in the date.

Everyone ready for Thanksgiving? Cold weather?

shootr..your doing so good. Your bike riding miles

are amazing. You find the neatest places to ride.

Diana..Hope you enjoy Thanksgiving and keep your

weight loss. Great you get to go to Hawaii in January.

Kasi..Hope you got everything ready for your friend.

Have a good visit.

Jan..Good to see you. Please come in each week.

I'm off track to. Yes plan a Hawaii cruise. You'll

love it.

Jo..Solo was fine but different. 28 days was alright.

I could of gone longer. Wish I could of. Yes I met Deb

but hard to remember her. Met lot of people then didn't

see them again.

Think I lost on cruise was I walked a lot and at home I

haven't plus been eating wrong things. (didn't want to

food shop I was going to be gone again) finally had to go

shop. Think I lost a lb or two of the home gain.

angele..Glad you lost but sorry you did it by being sick.

Great your only 2lbs from your goal. You did great at your

conference in eating.

Have a Great Thanksgiving for those who celebrate at this

time.
