Hey all forgive me for asking another cabin question. I just want to pick a cabin that we will be comfortable in for 8 days.
I'm booked in cabin 6411 and 6409 and I am contemplating moving cabins but we need 2 cabins either directly across from each other or next to each other. If we are going to have 2 balconies we need connecting cabins to keep a close eye on the kiddos (my phobia of kids overboard). Anywho, to move up to alternate decks, it's looking like it will cost at least $1,000 (that's a couple of independent shore excursions). What do you think? Is it worth it or will we be fine, in terms of a low noise level. Thamks for the help |

Looks like you're over a seating area by the cafe, and under other cabins. I would think that would be good. Hopefully someone who's been on the Breeze can chime in.
I'd use the $1000 for something else. Have a great cruise! Peg |

I would move. I had a friend who was very unhappy on breeze with a similar cabin. No privacy and noise from below. You'd be looking down on the seating area near Fat Jimmy's BBQ.

Carnival has extremely low regard for their best repeat customers. It's sad and it's bad business. I'm taking my hard earned vacation dollars elsewhere. |

Definitely move!!! especially if you enjoy the balcony. The balcony is directly above the thickest & busiest part of the lanai (an outdoor public walkway that circles the ship). The lanai sticks out from the ship, taking away a big chunk of the ocean view and all of your privacy (on deck 6). The lanai sticks out extra far where you're at as well. There is no hot tub there, but it sticks out quite a bit. On Dream & Magic (sister ships), I noticed this exact spot to be the hot spot on the entire lanai for people to gather and sit & talk, moreso on your side of the ship than the other. During the BBQ at lunch, many people sit and eat right there, on your side of the ship and not as much the other. I don't know if the noise from the people would come up into the rooms (probably would), but it would be very noisy out on the balcony. Plus, the interior room for your kids will be directly above where the band plays late into the night, until at least midnight or later. This would probably also affect your balcony room.
I wouldn't do deck 7 either, because of the lanai. The lanai starts to not matter as much on deck 8, as long as you are not in that same spot or above one of the hot tubs. Deck 9 can have some noise issues from the lido deck above in some of the spots. If you are not booked under Early Saver, I would highly recommend downgrading to a cove balcony. Since you are before the final payment date, there should be no penalty for moving down. At worst, they would cancel & rebook with the lower (and cheaper) category. With the coves, you want to be in the forward block of coves (forward of the midship elevators), so that you are not below the galley/kitchen. If you are under Early Saver, you cannot downgrade. So I would move up to deck 8 or higher, and still put the kids in an interior across the hall. If you pick a room that is further back of the aft elevators, or about halfway up from the forward elevators, the lanai is very skinny in those spots, and does not get much use there. So it won't be much of an issue at all in those spots. These rooms will experience more motion though, so if that is a concern, just go to deck 8 or deck 10 or higher, and try to not be above the hot tubs or that hot spot where you're at now. To find out exactly what is below a certain room, use this: http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/Ma...ive/dragit.php Sorry for rambling, but when I pulled up the deck plans & saw where you were, I knew that I needed to share this info with you. Here is a pic from the lanai, to give you an idea as to the lack of privacy on a deck 6 or 7 balcony. You can see someone giving me a dirty look from their balcony. Please note that the lanai sticks out further than this below your current balcony. The hot tub, that you can see the boundary of in this pic, gives you an idea of how much of the view is taken away above those as well, not to mention the noise from it. The 4 hot tub spots, and the 2 spots outside of the "Ocean Plaza" are the spots to avoid being above, even from a deck 8 or maybe even deck 9 balcony.

Thanks K2 for your in depth analysis. I took your advice and I moved up 2 decks to mid 8th deck. The first time I called and expressed concern about noise I was told I could not move and besides their were no inside cabins left on the entire ship
! I pointed out that I was above a dance floor and the widest part og the Lanai. The representative said, "Don't worry about it, there shouldn't be noise." So I decided to explore myself and although it took re-configuring the party, I was able to get a balcony and an inside directly across from each other. I called back and was able to do so. I ended up paying $80 less for the change and it is considered an upgrade on the 2 cabins. Yippee !!! But as always the advice on cruisecritic is correct. Call back until you get someone who knows what they are talking about, which translates to keep calling back until you can get someone who can give you what you need. |

I would definately move up if you can. The extra shore excurions would be great but not compared with the loss of enjoyment of your balcony.

It looks like you are above the Limelight Lounge, maybe above a bar there. This is where the hold the Comedy shows and some of them are going on after midnight.
At this far aft you will have the narrow section of the Promenade deck. You probably won't have too many people hanging out around there most of the time. Of course they will probably be there when coming into and leaving a port. But at least there are no tables and chairs there. Sharon
