Room service attendant

Outside of the normal duties. What has been some things an attendant has done to make your cruise all that more enjoyable.

In general, nothing! They are the "housekeeper" for your cabin. However, once hubby lost his wedding ring....and our cabin attendant found it....bless her!

Are you talking about the person who brings you food in your room, (Room Service)or the person who cleans your room, makes the bed, etc? (Cabin Steward).

Your "attendant" is the cabin steward.

Hmmm...that sounds like something special...

Found me a firm pillow...bless her...I hate those soft feather type...and no...I will not bring my pillow from home :eek:.

She found and brought us a coffee maker for our room. They aren't offered on the inside cabins on ncl.

She made us feel special, by stopping her duties and coming to say hello to us, and she always remembered and called us by name.

I enjoyed visiting with her, and I found out quite a lot about her life at her home just by taking time to spend some time talking.

And, some awesome towel figures! Gotta love those!

To me that's going above and beyond.

The first evening of our most recent cruise - on Ruby Princess - we got back to our cabin after dinner to find the bathroom floor flooded and the carpet by the bathroom soaked. Called the pager number on the little card on the desk. Jeffrey called back within 30 seconds. We told him the problem and he showed up at our door about a minute later. He made some phone calls and within 2 minutes a crew member was at the door with the water vacuum and the plumber came a couple of minutes later. 30 minutes later it was all fixed. And no problems for the rest of the cruise (26 days).

We filled out a comment card for both Jeffrey and the plumber and Jeffrey got a nice extra tip later on.

So far our room stewards just do their jobs --nothing special.
