Celebrity Inside cabin or Carnival Balcony?

Hi Folks,

I am planning a cruise that would leave from San Jaun on my own and am new to cruising. The price point is high when you are traveling alone. I am wondering what would be the better choice. An inside stateroom on the Celebrity Summit or a Balcony stateroom on the Carnival Valor. They both sit at around the same price.

Thanks.

Having sailed on both Celebrity and Carnival, I would suggest Celebrity inside. If from San Juan, probably it will be the Summit. It is a nice ship and typically, except during holiday periods has fewer children and less party people the Carnival. The Celebrity ships have a great no announcement policy, the food superior and a wonderful adult only pool/spa area. I think if you are traveling alone, a better option. IMO.

Some people will tell you to book the least expensive cabin on the best ship. Others will tell you that you must have a balcony. I've been in inside cabins and didn't like it. That said, Celebrity is a step above Carnival, but that does not mean you will enjoy the experience any better. By that I mean, Hyatt may be a better hotel than Holiday Inn, but that does not mean I would sleep any better at Hyatt than I would at Holiday Inn.
