Transp. from FFl to Port Everglades with 3 Minors

There is a party of 9 that includes 3 minors aged 2, 7 & 9. Was reading another post that said that the state of Florida is enforcing booster seats law for minors. The poster went on to say that it was difficult getting cabs from the airport to the port that makes booster seats available. Any cruisers have any experience with traveling with minors and how did you handle the situation.

Unless you bring your own car seats a taxi will be impossible - you could bring your own seats (the airline will check them for free if you do not use them on the flight) and tip the driver extra for the time spent installing and uninstalling the seats.

You could book a shuttle/car service that will provide you with seats - Go Airport (based inside FLL) is the first option I would contact. The cruise transfer bus will be expensive and slow, but does not require car seats - another option.

What were you planning to do for car seats in your port visits?

Good luck! :)

What was the cost if you don't mind me asking.

If you need a ride from the airport (FLL) to Port Everglades you would have to contact him to get a rate. We went from FLL to the Doubletree hotel and it was $80 for 10 people. From the hotel to the ship was also $80.

From all indications, in reading excerpts from the Florida law, it requires seats for children 5 & under. The older ones should be ok with seat belts and if we bring a booster seat for the 2 year old, will we be all right?

With regards to ports, the only one that we should be concerned is Cozumel, Mex. as the others are Labadee and Freeport.

If it is a booster that is approved and sized correctly for your two-year old you should be okay. I would bring my own car seat just to be sure that it is correctly sized, correctly installed, and has been properly maintained - protecting the child is your focus.
