Fort Lauderdale beach for the day?

Fort Lauderdale beach is a great beach to spend the day. It's located directly on A1A and can be accessed by going eastbound on 17th street. The main parking lot is located at the southern end of A1A. There are bathrooms located in the parking lot. Food and drinks can be purchased at restaurants and bars located north of the parking lot. Bahia Mar Cabana is located across from the parking lot. Nice place for a burger and beer. If your looking for a cool place to have a drink, walk north on A1A and stop at the Elbo Room. It's located at the intersection of Las Olas Blvd and A1A. It's been there forever and a great place to people watch. Remember going there during spring break way back in 1978.

There is also a city lot next to Elbo Room.

I'd head to Publix and get one of their cheap coolers ($2.50 for a soft sided and they work) and load up there. Publix subs and fried chicken are really off the chart good.

We usually park at the lot behind Blondies. $7 for all day.
