Bingo?

I was looking at posts regarding the Carnival bingo and it looks to be expensive. How many games do you get to play? Do you feel that it is worth it to try once on the cruise? My daughter loves to play bingo, but is only 15. Do you have to be a certain age to play?

Thanks!

I think it's expensive, if you do every single game! But it's fun to try. That said, I haven't even played for the last couple of years on any ship! Just wasn't worth it.

If you don't mind spending $20 - 40 dollars for cards, and more for pull tabs, then go for it!!! It is fun to play and when you or someone sitting close to you wins, it's fun to cheer and be excited!!

In the Casino, you must be 18 to play -- I think for BINGO it's the same -- but I don't know. If you're with your daughter -- she can play, but you may have to "win" the prize???

I'm really not a help with specifics, since it's been a while since I've played -- but I can't ever remember them announcing any age limits...

On the Breeze, the price given included a pull tab card with a Bingo card. Actually, you don't have to buy the pull tab card. Just tell them and the price will be reduced for not taking the pull tab card.

Bingo on the Carnival ships is not what it use to be. There are few games played during the session and there is too much banter other than Bingo. Then in the last few minutes, they rush the Bingo games and the games are very short since most are 5 space games. Because of this, there are fewer players especially during the beginning of the cruise. Oh well, I'm still playing and throwing my money over the side. In 17 cruises, I have played most of the games offered and have won about 3 times for small prizes and a couple of those winnings were split with another cruiser. How's that for luck? Then I keep reading how some cruisers win big bucks with their first game and never return. Oh well, on cruise 18, I am expecting to win it all back. .................................. Yah sure!

It is probably one of the biggest rip-offs on the ship, in my opinion. You pay $10 for 1 play card, $20 for 3-play card. There generally is a few simple games. The payouts are pathetic and a fixed amount. It does not increase or decrease based on the number of players. Everyone on the ship could be playing and it would still only pay $100-$150 for a winning card.

I like BINGO, but I will only play once per cruise. Either when they have the half-priced or BOGO specials, or on the final night when you play "blackout" for the chance to win $1,000 cash or a free cruise.

They spend more time selling the cards then they do with the actual game.

30 minutes is allotted time on the fun times-- but maybe 10 minutes on the game itself.

There will be a gringo bingo sometimes during your cruise-- its like 3-5 games for one price. That is the only one I would participate with.

Bingo is gambling if your daughter wants to play you need to be with her in case she wins. You will need to call the bingo for her

We play and have won several times so it does get up there in coats. I agree with others that the game is really fast and the rest of the time there is banter and selling the cards. Still play every cruise though.

I love bingo. I've been on 3 cruises. I played a couple times first cruise. I found it to be a big rip off. So expensive for a couple games. Ridiculously expensive. I'd rather put my $20 in a slot machine. At least then I feel like I have a chance.

It's fun to play one or two games. It was 25 for a bingo card that had 3 sections to play and a pull-tab card. I don't know if it has changed or not since I last played. I actually won :D a free cruise the last time a I played it and that was in 2012, so I found it worth it to play.

Of the Freedom - it was 3 cards for 5 games for $20. I did not like it as they were pull tab cards where you reused the same cards for all 3 games. I would have rather had to use daubers and new cards for each game as by the later games it was harder to see which numbers that had been called.

I also did not like where they just started selling cards at 3:30, when Bingo started so the game didn't start until like 3:50. On Princess they sold cards earlier so Bingo started at the time listed (or just a few minutes after).

You now have to mark your bingo cards with daubers. They sell the daubers for $2.00 each, they are the small ones. If you have daubers at home be sure to pack one or two.

What exactly is a dauber? Before when you did the pull tab Bingo card, you would use the same Bingo card over and over. At least that's the way it was on the Breeze in February.

It's a big, fat, flat-tipped marker that makes circles of colour on the bingo spaces when you 'daub' them.

This is a better picture for explanation, I guess.

I guess they must give you a Bingo Card for each game now that we have to mark the Bingo Card. Before you used the same card over and over again. Actually I didn't like the push tab because after you played a few games using the same card, the tabs got bent out of shape and kept opening and closing. At least that problem is gone.

Please confirm, on the Breeze for BINGO do they use daubers? or the punch thru and bend down cards as in the past? And if daubers can you in fact use a standard size dauber or a highlighter?

In May I was on the Liberty and they no longer had the punch thru cards. Apparently they are no longer available. Yes, you can use a standard size dauber or a highlighter. Good luck.
