Blue Mountains, Easter 2017

Recommended Posts

We are on cruises leaving from Sydney on both 4/3/2017 and 4/20/2017 . Will spend the week in-between in Sydney. We are planning on renting a car and spending 4/17-4/19 in the Blue Mountains. Since Easter is 4/16, will that following week be a big time for people to be on holiday? In the US, many schools are on Spring Break about that time and people go on holiday.

Already have hotels booked in Sydney for that period, just wondering if the Blue Mountain area will be busy during that time right after Easter and if we should be looking for a hotel now?

Hi bubbachief, yes Easter is a busy period for people going away for the long weekend, and although you will be there after the long weekend, it is also school holidays at that time, and a perfect time of year to visit the mountains. I'd recommend pre-booking accommodation if you can.

Easter Monday, 17th April, 2017 will be a public holiday (a four day long weekend for many), plus school holidays, so a busy time.

There is also a Christian Easter convention in Katoomba at that time so accommodation might be scarce if you wait for too much longer.

Busy busy busy. But NICE.

Defianately book ahead.

Chose a fully flexible rate that let's you cancel if need be.

A bit more expensive, sure, but you can cancel if need be.

The larger hotels that are members of a chain areally usually a good bet. Look at the (the name is a mouth full)

yes, it will be busy, as others have said book well ahead. There are some lovely B&Bs in the blue mountains, thats what I'd recommend, Leura is lovely... but then its all lovely really ... lots of nice places to bushwalk

Thanks for all the suggestions. We booked a B&B in Leura and are looking forward to spending a few days in the Blue Mountains. Long ways off, but now it's taken care of.

Hang in there, it's hard to wait.
