Fisherman Island Grain Terminal, Brisbane

Recommended Posts

I thought I would repost here pictures from my blog of the terminal to help those whose ship has to unfortunately make a stop here. Visited on Solstice in March.

Two long covered walkways to the terminal building

There were numerous cabs (cars and 10 seater vans such as this one)

A 10 seater cost around $75AUD and dropped us off by the Wheel of Brisbane so we could walk to the Mirimar boat pontoon on this side of the river just on the other side of the Victoria Bridge.

There was no public transport from the terminal at all. No Hoho there.

Back to the terminal...... it's laid out in a very convulated way

Doesn't seem far

Linda,

Didn't Celebrity arrange for shuttle buses to the city? Did everyone have to get taxis?

They did indeed arrange for shuttle buses at $20.75AUD pp return. $15.75AUD for children.

They dropped off at the Treasury Casino near the Victoria Bridge. If there's a group to go into town it would be more economical to take a taxi for 10. The driver will be more than happy to arrange for the return trip. I know people tried to book a maxi taxi to meet them at the pier but this was not possible.

Thanks, Linda. I had this mental image of a couple of thousand passengers all fighting for taxis. :D

We'll be there next Friday on Golden Princess, and I think Princess will arrange shuttle buses as well. We're just planning on heading into the city for coffee and a nice lunch somewhere. It certainly won't be as pleasant as when we docked at Portside last year. :(

how very sad they charge for shuttle buses.. Azamara docks about 30 minutes away and the shuttle is FREE!!

It's standard for Celebrity to charge wherever they put shuttles on.

It all depends on whether or not they include it in the fare . Nothing is "free"...someone has paid for it.

Hello Linda,

Voyager of the Seas will be also docked at the Fisherman Island Grain Terminal outside of Brisbane.

Do you know how much the price is for a taxi to Treasury Casino and back?

We want to grab a rental car at the near of the Casino (there are a lot of rental car stations) and drive to Surfer's Paradise.

How long did the ride take?

Thanks for helping!

I don't know the specifics about the ride to the Casino itself, sorry. We were dropped off across the bridge from there. Ride is about 40 minutes.

I want to go right back now.....
