What special onboard events did you experience on a world cruise or segments?

On my Regent Grand Voyage in 2008, each segment had an event for everyone onboard and one elegant dinner event at the end of the voyage for the full cruisers.

The segment events included: Dinner Under The Desert Stars in Walvis Bay, Namibia and Cocktails at the race track in Manama, Bahrain.

On the Queen Victoria World Voyage this year, passengers who were on for the entire cruise had a cocktail party during each segment and we had an off the ship gala event in Hawaii.

On the ship, there was a lounge set aside just for world voyagers to relax and have refreshments.

With Crystal Cruises there are one or more on board special events for either everyone or for those on the full world cruise.

This includes:

World Games which is held one time each cruise for about 10 days with all sorts of special activities.

Two on board dinners with pre dinner entertainment for those on the full world cruise

A couple of mixers during the daytime for those just on the full world cruise.

Some special performances at night that are created for everyone.

Two shore side events just for those on the full world cruise.

Behind the scenes tour of the crew decks and on another evening a visit to the senior officers quarters for those on the full world cruise.

World Cruise Kickoff on the first night and a World Cruise Farewell event on the last night for everyone.

And about 10 or more other special events for everyone.

On QE we had a welcoming cocktail party the day we boarded. Each segment there was a Captain's Cocktail Party for the full World Voyage passengers. This cake came out for each and more decorations were added around it.

In Dubai we had a gala dinner in a beautiful hotel.

Holland America has several themed balls such as Mardi Gras where they hand out beautiful masks, and lots of cocktail parties/receptions plus a special event. There are special dinners with decorations throughout the cruise (under the sea was one of my favorites). In 2014, Desmond Tutu came on board, and gave several talks, in 2015 they rented Ephesus for the evening with cocktails, food and entertainment, have not heard yet what is in store for the 2016 WC. The president and the CEO come on board for a while for the special events and the parties begin! Plus they do a Q&A that is always well attended and informative.
