Casino Royale, changes and new criteria

The existing VIP program has been terminated.

It looks like they are replacing it with a Rolling(non-negotiable chip) Program.

You have to buy minimum $10,000 chips. You would get the 5% cash advance waived, free drinks in the casino and a 1% cash rebate on your purchase. Chips can only be used for roulette and baccarat table games.

This Program is not available for slot play and all the other table games.

For the cruise certificate you have to earn 1100 points for slot or 1000 points for table games to get a $250 certificate. These points are separate items and not combinable. So if someone gets almost 2000 points from slot and table games he/she may not get any certificate if the separate targets are not achieved.

The Sea Pass card should be used for all these plays.

CR will only look at your last cruise play to see if you qualify for their membership rate. However if you are cruising with family on some cruises and do not play then they will look at your previous cruises.

Sounds like conflicting information compared to what has been commented to date. Where is this information from?

It states it is not available for slot play, but then goes on to mention points earned in slot play. So can you still be a member with slot play only?

Of course. Slot play is not available only for the Rolling Program.

So there is no program for black jack players or poker players? You have to buy in for $10,000?? This certainly doesn't sound right. We shall see.

BJ and some other games are considered games of skill and hence would not be available for the Rolling Program.

Only those who play roulette on your ship is eligible for the Rolling Program.

"that table points are now based on time played" Points earn is now based on the table minimum and time played. No more individual assessment of your bet size for award of points.

I amassed 7600 points and was given a certificate for a free cruise in a balcony and $150 off my bill. I was also told that in addition to free drinks in the casino, which I've been getting for the past year, I'll be given extra amenities on my next cruise in May.

Firstly to save you the trouble of Googling "casino rolling program" I will explain it as best I can.

You buy the dead chips or non-negotiable chips from the casino. Normal restriction is you can play it on selected tables, games or high minimum table limits. When you lose the chip is gone. When you win you will get a cash chip. This you can play at any table or cash it.

Casino manager/ host/pit boss has always the some discretionary ability to provide additional Comps.

The "Club Royal" credit card doesn't have anything to do with Club Royale. It's a UK card that appears to provide rewards to travel agents.

If I'm not mistaken, rolling chip programs are for "whales" and mostly for baccarat. This works in a place like Macau where 90+ percent of the revenue is from baccarat but on your average royal caribbean ship that's not filled with chinese gamblers how would this work?

I am no Whale. And I have played with rolling chip for $1000 on some casino ships here.

To answer the previous posting the UK spelling is different from the US spelling as you have used the French spelling "Royale". True baccarat in Asia can be equated with roulette in the US.

IMO, this new program you're talking about applies to China and Asia sailings on Ovation and does not apply to their other ships.

If this is in reference to my comment regarding the Visa cards, then yes, I understand the distinction in spelling. However, it's still the case that these "Club Royal" cards don't have anything to do with "Club Royale".

If you browse the linked web site more closely, you'll see that they reference the requirement of being a "Royal Caribbean Cruising For Excellence Captain". If you Google that expression, you'll see that "Cruising for Excellence is the online travel agent training program for Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises." and that "Captain Status is achieved when you complete all the Essentials Training modules for a particular brand."

Only have to book 4 new cruises to be a member. No minimum play mentioned or presume required.

It has nothing to do with Royal Caribbean's casino program at all.

I totally agree with Linda. The rolling program has nothing to do with Club Royale in the US and Europe. It is most likely for Asian sailings only, as it is an Asian gambling program. As we all know the emphasis on gambling, and the casino layout and rules on the Ovation is quite different than that on the other RCCL ships.

This was a very deceiving thread. Absolutely nothing is changing (for now) in the casino Royale program. I just confirmed this with Casino Royale's customer service.
