Default Visa in Turkey

Do Americans need a visa for Turkey? If so, is a group visa included with the ship's tours?

If you are just visiting for the day and there is no overnight stay then there is no Visa requirement.

Our TA could be wrong and also it could be different as we are Aussies, but she told me that you get the visa when you arrive and it will cost us $20US each. We are prepared but if we do not need it, it will be a bonus.

From the Turkish embassy web site:
http://www.turkishembassy.org/traveltourism/faq.htm#1

Quote:
Passengers in transit through Turkey who do not leave their port of transit do not require visas.

You don't need a visa for one day in Turkey
If you need any private tours in Turkey let me know
