Shorts in MDR

Sorry if this has been posted, but under the new guidelines, can men wear nice shorts in the dining room at night? Thanks

I hope not and hopefully not baseball caps and T shirts.

Under the new rules. They still specify no shorts in the MDR except breakfast and lunch.

I don't see why not. A nice pair of shorts by it name are just not as long as a pair of nice pants.

LOL, this is NOT RCCL... where it may be acceptable amongst the fellow passengers... you can try there if it is that important to wear them at night.

Shorts are allowed at breakfast and lunch. Goes for men and women.

The new dress code only affects Formal Nights. All other rules (i.e. no shorts in restaurants at night) remain.

I have no doubt some will try and push the issue over time. Time will tell if front line employees will be put in the position of denying access to MDR.

Our last cruise had a tablemate wearing a camp shirt on formal night and not denied entry into MDR. So I can only assume there will be inconsistent enforcement over time.

Chair hogs anyone?!

It is the guys who wear the baseball caps to dinner that should be expelled from the MDR. On my last cruise, one man at the next table wore one every evening. Ridiculous!

Baseball caps are allowed, but they must be worn backwards, or sideways.

Unless you are a cute 2-4 year old toddler, spare us the hairy leg visual and go eat at the Oceanview cafe. Right up your alley.

However, if you want to put your Big Boy pants on, come over and dine with those of us who appreciate the fine ambience of a true dining experience and wear something that respects the venue as well as your fellow diners.

You will get un with shorts on, I have seen plenty of saddos wearing them. The staff at the door are too afraid to say no.

I have seen people turned away from MDR on non-formal nights for wearing shorts

I was on the Equinox last week, and there was a man in there with shorts, socks, and sandals. :rolleyes: Classy.
