Maineac Posted January 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Am I correct in assuming that prior to sailing we'll be informed of the specific dates for the formal and elegant casual evenings.
Chairsin Posted January 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Not sure if you use a TA but mine includes this information in my booking confirmation document. And it will also be noted in your final documents with your cruise ticket ( a small tan covered booklet) that you should receive about a month prior. Chairsin Posted January 28, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Let me clarify my answer --- you will know the number of formal nights in advance --- as to the break down of the others this will be detailed in the Daily Herald you receive on the day you embark. lincslady Posted January 28, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2015 You will be told the number of formal nights, but not when they are, I am afraid - usually on a sea day if there are any.
marazul Posted January 28, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2015 The only thing you can be sure of is that it will not be on embarkation day (evening).
Chairsin Posted January 28, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2015 Yes, usually, but not always true. On our June cruise out of Athens the first night much to our surprise was a formal night. Sent from my iPad using Forums
wripro Posted January 28, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2015 And it's formal optional, not formal.
Maineac Posted January 28, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted January 28, 2015 I do wish Seabourn would share the evenings schedules prior to embarkation. Can't imagine having "formal optional" on the first night. Cheers,
Chairsin Posted January 28, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 28, 2015 It was an anomaly. But quite strange to have long time SB crew whom we have known for years ask as we were boarding would we like to join the Captain for dinner. Agree it is much nicer to spend the first evening and sail away leisurely making new friends rather than rushing off to put on our formal gear ( which for us is not optional !)
