Onboard credit refund?

Dear fellow cruisers,

On our recent cruise on the Emerald we purchased quite a lot of onboard credit, some of which we did not use.

Speaking to one of the reception staff on the ship they informed me that a refund cheque will be sent out to me in a few weeks.

We disembarked on the 29th November and wondered how long we should wait to receive the cheque before contacting them?

Thanks.

I'd say about 4 weeks or so. Watch out as the envelope does not say Princess on it anywhere and looks like a piece of junk mail and is easily overlooked.

Mine said it was from Bottomline however with the OP being in the U.K. don't know if it's the same procedure.

mklions...here's a link to a previous discussion about refunds with most being received about 4 weeks after sailing.

Hopefully you'll have a better experience than this Manchester U.K. passenger:

Good Luck,

We are still waiting a refund since Feb 6th. We diligently waited the 4-6 weeks and received nothing. Eventually emailed customer services on April 1st. Responded within 2 days saying they owed us £84 and the cheque would be sent out. Still haven't received it. Have emailed several times both customer services and the person who emailed to tell us the cheque would be sent out. They have never replied to these emails which is very frustrating. Finally rang today (struggled to find a UK customer services number so went through the normal number for booking a cruise).

They have said that a cheque was sent but they will send another. Strangely we don't have any problems receiving a whole array of mail from Princess when we need to pay for our next cruise!!

We still have not received our cheque, its now been over five weeks since we disembarked the Emerald.

Is this a normal time to wait or should I get in touch with Princess?

What is the best way to communicate with Princess on this matter if I do not here from them soon.

Does any member have a email address or a UK telephone number on which to contact them?

Kind regards,

Mklions

Guess it's far too late for you now but for future reference we never leave any unused obc on our account. We always go to the Casino a day or so before disembarkation, put our cruise card into a slot machine, transfer money from our on board account, play a pull or two, then cash put to our cruise card. Take the cruise card to the cashier cage and hey presto, she gives ypu the cash. Job done.

My OBC wasn't purchased........it was from Princess, resulting from a very nice 'move over' offer

......so, a significant amount of money :)

The money has been used to pay off my Asia cruise in April, Diamond Princess here I come :D

I'm still waiting for our refundable credits too. We disembarked from the Regal on 11/27. I called princess and they told me to email customer relations. I'm going to wait a couple more weeks before I do so. I figure it might take longer because of the holidays.

We sailed on the Royal on Oct 22 and also have a hefty amount of onboard credit to be refunded. I have spoken four times to Customer Relations, each time being put on hold, transferred and given a variety of excuses and answers. The agents could not even direct me to a supervisor.

Today they told me it was mailed out on December 29th in a plain, junk mail type envelope from a company they use for these type of refunds. I'll keep you all posted on when the pony express delivers!!

Happy to report that our OBC refund check arrived today in the plain white envelope from Bottomline Technologies in Portland, Me. It was disbursed on 1/5/17 and mailed on 1/6/17, obviously not the date quoted by Princess last week. I'm thinking they sent the info to Bottomline on 12/29 as they stated in our phone conversation and it took a week for the payment company to process the check. So all in all it took 10 weeks. "All good things come to those who wait" my mother used to say....Happy New year fellow cruisers...:)

Can you get chips to play the tables from OBC?

Its now seven weeks and still no refund from Princess.

I e-mailled customer services two weeks ago and have not had a reply.

How much longer should I have to wait? and does any member have a UK direct telephone number that I can call please.

Thanks in advance.

Mklions.
