Why don't the ships give free drinks to players on ship casinos? I believe if they do that, they will see more players make bad moves and the casinos will earn more money. Anybody else think so?

Makes total sense, but since they hold you prisoner and most people play in the casino free drinks or not, they don't feel they need to have that expense. Sucks doesn't it?

Hey that is awesome! How do you book through them? Can anyone do it or is this an "invite" only booking?

You have to jump through the hoops i.e., use your casino card every time you sit at a table (or machine) and the pit boss tracks your play. Then when you are ready to book your next NCL cruise you call CAS and they go back and check your play from your previous cruise with them. We are not big bettors, therefore, we only qualify for a 17% or so discount on the cruise and the free drinks. On our last cruise we booked through them we also got three days of treats sent to our cabin... cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, and a plate of hors d'oeuvres

Just an FYI, Carnival actually have the same thing, they are just terrible at marketing it AND you have to get pretty serious in your daily theoretical to qualify.

Actually I am going on the Epic July of next year with a friend and my cruise is free thru casino marketing. This will be my second free crusie through them. Myself and whom ever comes with me gets a free drink card also while in the casino. I don't drink, but my friend that usually comes with me does so she loves it. Ok I am also a Harrah's player so what are the benefits through them ? Can I get some kind of onboard credit or something ?

Trust me, I pay for two or three cruises in that casino ! I would say I spend about 80% of the time in the casino when not at a port. If you are wondering if I ever win... the answer is NO ! LOL it's still fun though.

As far as booking through Harrah's, I think anyone with a Harrah's players card can use this "discount" off the rack rate and also get the drink card. Your "discount" depends on your tier level at Harrah's, gold, platinum, diamond, etc. and the "discount" increases with your tier.

But.... the "discount" doesn't always result in a lower price, as I just found out. I'm actually paying more than the price listed on NCL.com to book through Harrah's and get my "discount". But, since the drink card is included, I figured it would be worth it. (apparently, you can't combine promotions)

I'll just have to drink a lot!

So I know that the bottom to get "rated" is a $25 base, but how much are we talking to get recognized in the CCL casinos. I feel like you don't get much of anything unless you are playing over $50/$75 base...anyone have ideas where you get free drinks vs. where you get free cruises?

Answere:The casions are run by a contractor and the bars are run by the ship

Just wanted to add this to the thread. NCL did try last year, for about two months, to give free alcoholic beverages to anyone in the casino actively gambling and using a players club card. They had to discontinue this due to people abusing it. Last May we were on the NCL Star during this test and we observed a lady who would put five bucks in a slot machine and bet three quarters. Then she would stop until a server came by and she would order a drink. She would then bet three more quarters and wait until the server came back by with her drink. She would take the drink, not tip the server, and the second the server walked away she would cash out and not gamble again until she was ready for another drink, where she would repeat her process. We saw her do this two or three times just where we were playing in the casino. This past Oct on the Pearl I asked the Casino manager about why they had discontinued that test, and was told that it was a huge failure because they had too many people doing what we had observed. The purpose of the test was to show their legit casino customers an appreciation for gambling. However abusers soon ruined that.
