One way to find your previous posts is to click your user name next to your avatar & above Cool Cruiser on one of your posts. A drop-down menu will appear where you click Find all posts by ... and a list of your posts will appear. The list shows your posts and the forums where your posts are located. Just click the first part of your post next to the
However, if you do not have one of your own posts handy to click your user name, click Members List. It is in the same bar above as User CP, FAQ, Guidelines, etc. but further over toward the right. When the screen opens, click Search Members and a drop-down menu will appear. Type in your user name and click the Go button. When typing your or any other member user name, be sure to type exactly as you see it on the boards. The search is case/space/symbol sensitive. Also, only members with 30 or more posts will appear. If you have 30 or more posts, the next screen should have the following headings: User Name, Find Posts, Join Date, Posts and Avatar. If you click your underlined user name, your profile will appear. If you click the Find button, the same list of your posts will appear and you do the same as mentioned above. And yes, these same procedures work when you want to read another member's profile or find their previous posts. However, the best way to stay informed on your posts is to make sure you have subscribed to every thread where you post. Subscriptions are a way of keeping track of different threads or forums. If your Default Thread Subscription Mode is still set as Do not subscribe (the previous default for new members) or Instant email notification (the current default for new members), it can be changed if you like. It is easy to do and here are the steps: Click User CP Click Edit Options Scroll down to the Messaging & Notification section Look at the Default Thread Subscription Mode box Your choices in the drop down menu are as follows:
Scroll to the bottom of the page & click the Save Changes button Now if you want to subscribe to a particular forum using Forum Tools at the top of the forum, there is no instant e-mail. The only subscription choices for a forum are as follows:
If there is a thread you are interested in the replies but do not necessarily want to post to the thread so your Default Thread Subscription Mode will kick in, you can click Thread Tools at the top of the thread and then Subscribe to this Thread. A screen will appear where you can indicate how you want to be notified concerning any additional replies on that particular thread. Once you are done, be sure to click the Add Subscription button. This is also what you will need to do to any threads where you have posted messages prior to changing your Default Thread Subscription Mode, if you change it. You manage your current subscriptions by clicking 'List Subscriptions' under 'Subscribed Threads' in your User CP. You can select which subscriptions you wish to manage and delete them or change their subscription type. However if your previous Default Thread Subscription Mode was Do not subscribe, there will be no 'Subscribed Threads' in your User CP. BTW, I find the instant e-mail notification works best for me. That way I do not have to go looking for any replies since they come looking for me! Also while you are there in Edit Options, be sure to see if there are any other Cruise Critic options there you might want to change.I sincerely hope this information will be helpful to all! Kat
