To celebrate ‘National Romance Week’, Princess Cruises has teamed up with Cruise Critic to conduct a search for real-life love stories – tales of romance from the decks of Princess ships.
Do you have a real-life romantic Princess cruise story to share? A proposal at sea, a wedding, or an anniversary trip that rekindled the romance. Did your partner go above and beyond to surprise you with a romantic gesture at sea, or perhaps you remember a wonderful ‘just because’ romantic moment that warms your heart.
Tell us your most romantic story and you could win a 7-day Caribbean cruise from Princess Cruises.
The top five most romantic stories will be selected by Cruise Critic editor in chief, Carolyn Spencer Brown, and Gavin MacLeod, who played Captain Stubing on The Love Boat television series. Gavin MacLeod is also Princess Cruise’s ambassador and a member of their ‘Department of Romance’ expert panel. Cruise Critic members will then be asked to vote for their favorite, most romantic tale of love from onboard a Princess ship.
The five finalists will each receive a signed ‘Love Boat’ DVD.
To enter, simply post your own original story in this forum. We’d love you to post a photo too, if you have one.
We are looking for true-life stories which took place on a Princess Cruise and which have not previously been published.
The deadline for entries is Friday August 28, 2009. Voting will be open September 2 to September 6, 2009.
Only one vote per member will be accepted.
Entries will be judged based on the following equally weighted criteria: clarity of writing (25%), creativity (25%), appropriateness to theme (25%) and overall romantic nature of the story (25%).
Princess Cruises has the right to publish the stories/photos from Cruise Critic members who submitted them.
Cruise Critic editor, Carolyn Spencer Brown, has offered to start the ball rolling by telling us her tale of finding love at sea; stay tuned for her story right here on the forum!
