when to send invites?

I was wondering how early people are sending invites? The people that I think will go already know and have reservations, however I want to get the information to all family and friends in plenty of time if they choose to come along also. Is 4 months to early to send invites?

It is never too early to send out the invitations. My wedding is in November and I sent out my invites in late August, and I put the deadline to RSVP as October 1st. None of my wedding guests are sailing on the cruise and I wanted to give everyone plenty of time to reply back and make they all have the necessary documents(i.e. drivers license info or passport #, birth certificate for children under 16) required to board the ship.

Our wedding is Sept 2010 and we sent out Save the Date postcards in July/Aug and will send out formal invites by Mid November to give guests almost a year to save up for the cruise

I set up a wedding Website in March (my wedding is in November) with all of the information about our wedding and cruise and such. At that time I sent out an email blast to everyone that I thought might want to cruise with us. I also sent a packet of information to those without emai. A few weeks ago I sent out our invitations to the out of town people that were not cruising in order for them to have enough time to find flights and such. I'll be sending out my local invitations next week so we can have a full head count a month before the wedding.

I was very diff than most ppl in that i never sent out Save the Dates I sent out my passport invites complete with all the booking info in Late January for our November Wedding. We set a booking deadline of March 31st (which got extended a few times) and our balances were due 8/24....
