Thanks, Kathy! I know we will! I'll have to find out when Debbie & Dave are going on their cruise in Sept. I'm guessing it will be earlier in the month, though. They are a LOT of fun, so it would be great if you ended up sailing together! (They were there for WATPOPWUA Part One!)

Well its official we are now booked on September 23rd out of Tampa, FL on Carnival legend. Im so excited. New ship and New Port so this should be exciting.....Have to admit though would be nice if some of the other wonderful people we met on the Dream would end up on this one.....IM going over to the posting for this cruise and start stirring things up and see what happens LOL................

This sound like Mine & Sheri's kind of place.. We are trying to plan a Hawaii trip next year for our 25th Anniversary.. Its in January but not sure when we plan on going.. Heard January is the Rain season.. But for now.. We are looking forward to our September 15th cruise on the Liberty out of Miami...

Great news! I was hired by the company that I have been pursuing with the various and numerous interviews! 3 phone interviews...1 face-to-face...and going on since end of October....whew!

But now the chase is over and I must go back to being a working gal...no longer a kept woman as Bud likes to call me. I will start on Monday.

Thanks to all of you for your encouragement, and your support, and your prayers, good mojo, and positive words.

Vacation policy is not as good as where I was, but my cruise in October was approved (I made sure of that before I signed the offer letter!)...so for those sailing on the Valor...I'll be seeing you soon!

The name of the company is DME automotive, a direct marketing company that specializes in automotive companies only. They send out mailings to current customers and new customers. I am sure there is more to it, and I look forward to learning more about the company.

I will be the Payroll and Benefits specialist. They have about 300 to 350 people, with about 100 in the call center. The rest are divided up in 2 infra-companies within the parent company.

Like I said, the PTO policy is not as good as I had hoped, but I will be able to go on at least a 7-day and a weekender cruise each year. One of the nice things is that the commute is only about 30 minutes, with very little traffic.

There is a deli, a gym, and a few other perks on site. Sounds like this may all work out....

I am excited to be going to my new job tomorrow. I hope this one lasts, and that I am able to be successful and make an impact. I want to find a place I can stay at until it is time to retire for real. At Mass this morning, I gave thanks for the many blessings in my life....for my family, my new job, and each one of you.

Marylou you will do fine tomorrow God never gives us more than we can handle. You might actually like it more than your last job. Since I work for Autonation I wonder if they use DME for our advertising. Autonation headquarters are in Fort Lauderdale. You will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow.

Well we are back from Iowa. Thanks everyone for your kind words, thoughts and prayers and flowers. Your never ready for a parent to die. Paul's Mom was 91 years old and not in good health. She is in a better place now.

Life around the Klar household is status quo -
Laney swam in the HS District meet last Saturday and got bronze in the 100FY!! I'm sure she would have preferred gold but she's a freshman so she still has time!!! We were pretty excited for her. For those of you on FB, you saw my picture!!!
Matthew is playing select baseball and starts little league in a month. So, 2 teams for him and that will make life really interesting.
Benjamin is playing flag football and LOVES it. He finishes that in about a month and then starts little league.
Rick is busy, busy, busy.
and . . . I QUIT MY JOB!! So, I'm on the hunt. Hopefully, I will find a good fit for me and one that works with my crazy family schedule.

Betty - how is Paul doing? You know, it doesn't matter how old we are...it is never easy to lose a parent. What a blessing that his mom lived to be 91 years old! You said that she was not in the best health, so I am sure it is better than she is no longer suffering or in pain. My prayers are with the both of you, and with the rest of your family.

Yvonne - I do believe that Autonation is a client of DME, wonder if your branch in Ft Lauderdale is one of the clients? Be funny if they are..small world, huh?

Carol - you are such a crazy girl...and I love you for it! I am thinking that you will not be too bored while you are home and looking for a new job. Your kids and Rick sure keep you busy! I love reading about your days and your activities and the kid's accomplishments. Makes me smile every time!


My job is going well, and I think I will be so much busier than I ever was at my old job. Everyone is very nice, and I love my new office. Right now I am on the whirlwind tour of learning-learning-learning. I have only been there a few days now, but feel like I am already starting to settle in. Next week is my first payroll run, but I won't have to do it alone. I'll work with the girl who is the back-up for payroll from the Jacksonville office. Should be an adventure...but I think I'll take a couple of Tylenol before we get started!

Everyone thanks for your comforting words. It isn't easy losing a parent no matter what age. Paul's Mom had been in a assisted living for a few years and then had health issues and then moved to a nursing home. She had really gone down hill the last year or so.
Suppose to get rain and then snow this weekend. Not looking forward to the snow but we need moisture bad around here. Sounds like Karen is going to get it also. Warnings go out on Saturday for us.

wooweee...I saw the pictures from the snow storm you were talking about Betty and I do not envy you guys at all for having to deal with it all. It is so pretty to look at when I am sitting here in Florida, but I would imagine it is another experience all around to actually be right there in the middle of it.

Stay safe on the roads, and hunker down with your sweetie to keep warm.

Karen - every time I see pictures of your house, the pond, the back yard...it is so neat because I was there! I can recognize things around the yard. I know now why you have big dogs...so they don't get lost in all of that snow! My little dachshund would be buried on her first step...and I would not find her until the spring thaw!


Job is still going well. My first week just flew by. Normally, when you start a job, it is hard to stay awake because you are going through orientation...sitting in a chair watching someone work while you try and take notes...or just doing busy work in between getting trained. Not where I am at! Orientation was fast paced and interesting, and they kept us well engaged in everything. The next day, going up to my office, I did a couple on online training sessions for the payroll program, and my manager sat with me on Wednesday. I have been on the phone, talking with employees, and handling stuff as best as I can. When my manager told me during the interview that she does not like to micro-manage, she sure meant it.

Of course, I am working in a field that I am very comfortable in, and very familiar with - so I am sure that helps. With 350+ employees, I would imagine that there will not be too many dull moments, or times where I have to look for stuff to do.

Hopefully, I can settle in, and stay until I am ready to retire. I have a good feeling about this place, and I think I made a good decision to accept employment here.
