Here are the steps for putting your cruise history in your signature:
  • Click User CP
  • Click Edit Signature
  • Place your information in the Your Signature text box with the gray frame
  • Scroll down a bit and click the Preview Signature button if you like
  • When you are finished, click the Save Signature button next to the Preview Signature button
You can test your signature by posting a post on our TEST FORUM at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=225. That's the ONLY place where test posts should appear.

There are three places where you can put your picture:

Avatar: Small graphical images. They are displayed by your user name on all posts that you make.

Profile: Where you choose to put information about yourself. Other members read it by clicking your user name over the words Cool Cruiser on one of your posts and then View Public Profile.

Signature: This is text or image you would like inserted at the end of your posts such as your cruise history or countdown clock. You can also place your picture there using the Signature Picture area.

Here are the Custom Avatar directions for putting your picture next to your user name on each of your posts:
  • Click User CP
  • Scroll down and click Edit Avatar
  • Scroll down to the Custom Avatar box
  • Click the radio button beside Use Custom Avatar
  • You have two choices on how you want to upload an image with Option 1 - Enter the URL to the Image on Another Website or Option 2 - Upload Image From Your Computer
  • Either enter the URL or click Browse to choose an image from your computer
  • When done, click Save Changes
Please note the sizes allowed:

Custom Avatar - Maximum size is 80 X 80 pixels or 19.5 KB whichever is smaller

Profile Picture - Maximum size is 100 X 100 pixels or 64.05 KB whichever is smaller

Signature Picture - Maximum size is 500 X 100 pixels or 19.5 KB whichever is smaller

If your picture is too large, you will need to reduce it first.

Also, please remember the following from the Posting & You! section in the Guidelines:

Signatures
Cruise Critic has the following suggestions for keeping your online signatures manageable:
- Keep your images to around three (approx) -- which would include a picture, clipart, photo or your countdown.
- Try not to have any one image that is TOO large, which then takes additional time for your fellow members to download,
- If you have a LONG LIST of prior cruises, think about chopping off some, OR rearrange them horizontally rather than vertically;
- From time to time, browse through your signature and eliminate any extra blank lines, or old countdown codes, etc.

Remember, not everyone is speeding along on DSL or cable modems, super-fast processors etc. so keeping your signature to a reasonable length will help speed all of us along! Cruise Critic reserves the right to remove/delete portions of your online signature and will let you know that we've had to resize your online signature.

I sincerely hope this information will be helpful!

Kat
