Carnival Miracle 5.15.10 E. Carib. Review

Embarkation: Took a bus and got dropped off at pier 90 around 11:00 and getting through security was a breeze! In fact, everyone at the pier had an easy time getting through security and checking in to the ship. They gave us numbers to board the ship and we were onboard before noon and had a nice lunch on the Lido deck and it wasn’t even that crowded!:)

Meet&Greets and wrap parties: After lunch we went to our first of two meet and greets at the Lido bar where we met up with some of our CC Group members, honorees, and new friends we’ve chatted with for almost a year! We couldn’t have hand picked a better group and putting a face with the names was excellent. We also had a Cocktail Party / Gift Raffle which was wild and the cruise director Malcolm and his assistant Sparkles also attended. To keep the parties going, Sharon and Darren also hosted parties on their aft wrap suites where we shared some cheers and great views from their large balconies!

Room/Food/Shows/Casino: We had an 8E cabin 7235 and it was excellent though we thought the balcony was a bit small. I chose this cabin which was located across from the atrium where from the balcony you could see straight down instead of seeing the protruding lifeboats which partially obstructed the view below from several other balcony categories! We had the cabin steward empty our fridge the first day and loaded it with water and ice tea we had brought on board! We also carried on some mixers for the bottle of Vodka we bought from Bon Voyage!;)

We ate at the early seating and all the food was excellent and our servers were great and yes they still dance! And don’t forget, you can get ice tea and cappuccino at no extra charge in the dining rooms! The food at the buffet was also very good especially the deserts! Yum!! We also ate at Nick and Nora’s one night at luved it other then I thought the appetizer and desert selections were limited but the porterhouse steak was amazing!!!!!!

We caught all but one of the shows (other then the “R” rated midnight shows) and liked them all! The band and dancers were excellent and we really enjoyed the juggler and the “Ticket to Ride” shows!

The casino was nice and had two roulette tables which was nice for a change. Didn’t win any money this week but broke even for the cruise which is always a good alternative to losing!

Grand Turk: Grand Turk and Margaretville were real nice and right off the pier. There were plenty of free chairs on the beach and by the huge pool. We found our chairs by the beach and it was very nice and relaxing! I also took a 10 minute walk down the beach to Jack’s Shack which I recommend you visit as the drinks were less money, the beach was much quieter and nicer, and he had shot coupons on his web site!!!

Half Moon Cay: For almost a year a group of us hoped to book the Oasis and thanks to a lot of hard work from Darren we got it! It was an excellent area right on the beach which included an open bar, food, a cook, and a hostess as well as a nice whirlpool, hot towels, a hammock, table, beach and lounge chairs, snorkeling equipment…! We had it all and had a great time though it did rain most of the day and yes the thatched roof did leak! We did limit the group to 14 though it said it could hold over 20 but IMO it would have been crowded. Vid of the "O" coming soon!

Nassau: Took a CCL catamaran excursion with unlimited rum punch on the way back. Plenty of fish, and plenty of booze!

Disembarkation: Getting off was a breeze and we were within minutes of the estimated time of 10:15a!

Final Thoughts & Comments: We loved the Miracle and traveling with our CC Group and friends is the only way to go! Despite a bit of rain one day the cruise was excellent and having a third adult pool in the aft area made this one of the most relaxing cruises we’ve ever been on. I am a CruiseAholic and Luv2Cruz!!:D

If you have any questions I'll try my best to answer!;)

Thanks for the review.. very interested in your video of the Oasis.. we are planning on booking it for our next group cruise next year... and we were looking to fill it with 25 people... We may have to change that up depending on what we see.. :p

Kel, I think 25 people would be overdoing it a bit. We had 14 and were glad we stopped at that number. But....it was a monsoon the day we were there and all were huddled inside. Maybe with nice weather it would be do-able.

The Oasis is gorgeous too bad the weather was not more cooperative. We heard it rains only 5 days a year there and we were "lucky" enough to have one of those days.

14 was a nice crowd there. I think 25 would be a bit crowded. The table was for six and there were two bar top tables that held 2 each. There were a handful of deck chairs outside by the hot tub. You definitely cannot plan on eating together. It took a lot of pictures of the Oasis. Here is the link to my webshots album. They are in the first album for the cruise.

We also had 14 of us there the week prior.. it was PERFECT. And wow! Looks like the rain made a difference in the water level.. it comes all the way up to the bottom of the slide in your pics.. we had a good foot of airtime before hitting the water the week we were there! Glad to see you guys had as great of a time as we did the prior week.. and we also need to give a big shout out to Darren, thanks for your help! ;)

Just curious how much it cost for the Oasis and do you feel it was worth extra money? I'm so tempted to do it- but not so sure the rest of my group would be. We are a group of 26. But alot of kids-half of them 17 and above, and will probably be off doing god knows what!!!!

Barry,

Nice review.....

Yes 25 at the "O"....well I will chime in with if the weather is good...and from what we understood it is 98% of the time as long as you are not in it at the same time it can work...however 14-16 would be my limit.

Stars thanks...it was my pleasure helping you guys out...We are booked on the 5/14/2011 cruise if you guys are interested....from your roll call you guys like to have fun

how far away is jack"s shack from the pier? can you take a cab? it may be too far for me to walk in the sand ---thanks to rheumatoid arthritis.

about two cityblocks....walk the water line as sand is harder...My wife hurt her knee before the cruise and I di not have to carry her....worth the walk!!

Yes you can take a cab and just a heads up, the walk on the pier to land may seem pretty long as well!;)

Aw, thanks for the invite.. haha.. we certainly do like to have fun! We have a few people already repeating our cruise as well, unfortunately, we are not any of them.. with our schedules early May isn't going to work for us right now. As of this moment we're looking at a Royal Caribbean cruise June 9th-18th out of Cape Liberty going to Bermuda, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and San Juan. Seems we have at least six of us from this years roll call interested so hopefully it'll work out! I hope you guys manage to have an even better time (no rain at the O!) next year!
