Default Guy on Oasis

Ran into a guy at Customer Service in a local Dept. Store. Overheard him saying he was going on his first cruise and couldn't help myself. I asked what cruise. He and his wife were going on Oasis. They are on it now. Bummer to have your first cruise get "detours" but I hope the ship is all they were expecting and more.

Ha, glad someone mentioned the NHC ... that is, of course, our main source for hard data (wind speed, storm orientation, watches and warnings).

Excellent point. As a FL resident NHC link lives in the bookmarks/favorites tool bar for quick access on our computers.

The stormcarib site is rather neat because of the live posts from locals there along with occasional pics and videos.

Looks as though the Veendam is still heading for Bernuda.

Earl has totally changed the itinerary for the Dream this week. I'm sailing the dream next month, I wonder if the itinerary will be the same or change after the Earl aftermath.

I second the props for Stormcarib ... great first-hand reports from islanders.

Default oh, crud---we are on the Eurodam 9-6-2010

NOT what I wanted to hear......Hurricanes and tropical storms going up the Eastern Seaborad. We are on the Sept 6 sailing from New York to Quebec City, and it looks like it's going to affect all of our ports, if Earl goes as predicted.
