Default corkscrew in carryon??

Is it ok to pack a wine corkscrew in our carryon luggage or will they confiscate it? Thanks in advance!

Not sure 100% if it is ok. We always pack it in our checked bags to be sure, since it has a pointed end on it!!

We always check it in with our big luggage. I just never wanted the hassle of security stopping us and wasteing time just to see its ok to bring on.

Okay for carry-on to the ship, but not on an airplane. Carried one on last month.

Yeah, on a plane there's no way, but on the ship it's cool. After all, they pass out steak knives and you can buy or bring all sorts of things that could potentially be a weapon. The difference between a ship and a plane is that there's just no easy way to hijack a cruise ship, and no real reason for the criminally inclined to do so in the first place. Corkscrew away, and happy sailing.
Shake up your bones...

I know each and every TSA agent interprets the rules their own way but according to the TSA blog website corkscrews are allowed:

"Corkscrews are a little tricky, but also permitted. Let's be clear, corkscrews without knives. We know many corkscrews have the little knife that help cut the metal wrapping on a bottle, those are not allowed, but the little corkscrews with no knife are. Clear? No? Let's try this.

Fancy schmancy corkscrews with knives, no. Cheap corkscrews with no knife, yes."

For more info go to: http://blog.tsa.gov/2009/05/tsa-urba...-clippers.html

Anyway, that's the info for the airlines. You'll have no trouble at all taking it on the ship.
43 cruises, 284 nights. Ahhh, this is the life.

I take my corkscrew in my carry on luggage with my wine bottles. ( I carry both bottles one for each of us) No issues.

We just throw it in an interior pocket in our luggage along with our wine aerator (which comes in a nice little pouch).

Blessed to be a Blessing!

The attached TSA list says it IS permitted in carry-ons.
It's item #2 under Personal Items, 2nd page down.

And that does apply to air travel.

Ain't life fun?

In October we packed a small travel corkscrew in our checked luggage. The luggage was searched but nothing was confiscated. I think they searched it because it had drink mixers in it, which I am sure looked like liquor bottles on the x-ray.

Last trip ours broke.

The room steward brought us a Carnival one and said we could keep it.
