Default Dining Preferences

Hi all-

I have been a long time reader but an infrequent poster!

I was wondering if you can help me. My grandparents booked a Carnival cruise through a senior center. Even though the cruise is in May, the travel agent is telling them that they have to pay in full in order to guarantee their dining preference.

I have been on over 10 cruises (none with Carnival, however) and I never heard of a policy like this. Normally, I have put in my dining preference at booking and then I pay in full 30 days before.

Is this a Carnival policy? Or is their travel agent trying to get their money in advance?

Thanks!

Roe

Dining preference is selected while booking and has nothing to do with final payment. The TA seems to be stretching the truth a tad...

Thanks. This is what I THOUGHT as well, but I am unfamiliar with Carnival's policies so I wanted to be sure before I gave them advice.

Thanks!
