Will anyone be watching The Superbowl tonight. American Football has not really taken off in the UK however we are always fascinated by the big Spectacular events.

I remember kids being recruited to play American football in the area of West Yorks where I taught....it lasted a season or two, then it was back to Rugby League....
I don't think many American sports have taken off abroad....basketball, and rounders...(xxxxx Baseball, I meant to say!!! )a little, but nothing like the cricket of the Caribbean, or Pakistan. "World Matches" seem to be more inter state than inter country. I think I read that the only team game from the USA to enter World Competitions was basketball- and now some soccer has entered, thanks to the millions of Spanish speaking, soccer loving residents. Back to the rugby... Jo.

I heard that most Brits think it's a sissy game. All that equipment...it must take them 2 hours to get dressed.
I predict the Steelers to win. |
