FedExing Luggage on Galaxy - are they still doing it?
Iknow X had an experiment going where you could fedex all or part of your luggage home from the ship. Does anyone have info - is it still being done? what's the cost? how do you arrange it? any other info anyone might have. Thanks!

Hi Tuggers:
Don't know if Celebrity is still doing it or not, but you can arrange it yourself. There are 2 or 3 companies that ship luggage. The one I'm using for my Baltic cruise is Luggage Express. Their website is: http://www.usxpluggageexpress.com/default.asp
It's not cheap, but if you will be traveling around after your cruise and don't want to schlep a lot of luggage, it might be for you.
Good Luck!

Never Fedex (or similar service) your luggage TO a foreign country. You very likely will be hit with import duty and taxes that can nearly equal the actual shipping charges. The foreign country may also hold up relase of your luggage for days.
I Fedex'd one 70lb suit case to meet us in Barcelona for the Millennium transatlantic last October, since we were doing 10 days on the ground in France and Spain prior to the cruise. It was $313 to send the bag, PLUS a surprise of $198 in duty and taxes. The bag also sat in Madrid for 5 days "pending release". After numerous phone calls it was delivered to our Barcelona hotel late the afternoon prior to the cruise departure.
Regards

Do you Really need THAT much that you can't get it all legally on the plane??? Remember they allow 70# per bag on international flights not like the 50# or whatever in the US continental!
I think they lowered it to 50#. We took WAY too much on the last 2 week cruise! If I went for 4 weeks, I would have had enough & we were within the limits all the way around! (except the limo driver almost died when he saw the pile at 4AM in the driveway!)

Well, I'm thinking about doing Baltimore (7 nights) to San Juan to Galveston (7 nights) to Panama (12 nights) to Galveston and I figured after 26 nights I just really didn't want to be bothered on the flight home especially since I have to change planes in Atlanta. Just thinking about taking the easy way out!

Tug,
Just remember, as long as you get someone to help get the luggage to the cab, out of the cab to the porter at the airport, you won't have to see it again until you're home!!! Just a thought!!
26 nights??? I am SO jealous!!
