Any beaches near Puerto Quetzal?
We are looking for a beach near the port. It looks like Iztapa and Montecerico (sp?) are close, at least on a map, has anyone been? We try to avoid ship tours, and riding 1 1/2 hours to Antigua is not an option either. Looking for some place to cool off on the coast...any suggestions?

Still trying to figure out a way to get to Montecerrico. Has anyone tryed to take a cab or hire some kind of driver? Looks like a black sand beach and there is a nice hotel there. Still, really do not want to take the ship tour to get there. Leaving in 2 weeks on the Millennium.... need help!

By now, you probably know that the beaches have very rough water, more for surfers than swimmers.
