Default Singapore cruise port

Can someone please tell me where in Singapore the cruise port is located? I'm starting my search for a hotel and would like to find one within a reasonable distance.

I lived there and was there just last week actually in the shopping mall attached to the cruise terminal. Remember that Singapore is very small, and that taxi's are plentiful and cheap when chosing your hotel. However, to answer your question, the cruise port is on the left hand side of Singapore between the main island and Sentosa island ( a theme park). The ship docks next to a huge mall with all services that you could possibly want. You catch an escalator downstairs to the taxi rank. Couldn't be more modern or easier.

The cruise terminal is next to the Harbour front subway station. If you copy and paste these co-ordinates into google maps or google earth you will see where it is.

However, the larger ships could well be somewhere else. Not to worry, as already mentioned, a taxi from any down town hotel to any cruise ship will be less than $20 and less than 20 minutes. We enjoyed the Fairmont across the street from Raffles.

It depends on what you actual mean when you say Singapore cruise port. This could mean one of three possibilities:
a. The Singapore Cruise Centre situated at Harbour Front (next to the very big shopping Maill Vivo City), which has it's own MRT station:

http://www.singaporecruise.com/index2.aspx

b. If the Singapore Cruise Centre is full then the overflow ships will be berthed at a container port with a shuttle service to Habour Front.

c. At the end of this year the new Cruise Terminal is due to open:

As Singapore is so small you are never more than about 40 minutes from anywhere in Sinapore. The MRT is fast, the taxis are cheap and plentiful. Don't worry about the "reasonable distance" find a hotel that will get your holiday off to a great start.

As others have said there is more than on port area.

The major port is located at the Singapore Cruise Center, at Harbour Front.
Check with your cruise line to see if that is where you will be docked.

It is located about 30 minutes by car/taxi from the downtown area such as Orchard Road. Don't worry about getting a hotel near the port. Just stay downtown where there are many hotels to choose from.

It is very easy to get around. Taxi drivers are very nice so I would go with a taxi.

As mentioned, you can use the subway to get to and from this terminal which we do but not with luggage.

Hi,
I will arrive at the new CT in mid of March next year but will leave the city late at night (2 am).

What would you recommend about storing the luggage?

Thanks
Peter

Peter,

There is no web site or information about the new cruise terminal (including scheduled visits) as yet avilable.

There are various possibilities:

a. New cruise centre (see above).
b. The left luggage facility at the old cruis terminal (open 7:00 - 19:00)
c. Trip to the airport and back.
d. See if your airline has downtown luggage checkin facilities.
e. At a hotel (see below)

Thank you Ron,

I thought of going to the airport.

But your tipps about downtown luggage check in (Emirates ?) and the inncrowd.com are very much welcomed.
